The Firefest VI – Primera Parte Nottingham 2009

Asistir nuevamente al festival inglés es toda una gozada, sobretodo si uno tiene en sus gustos entre el rock melódico y el Aor. Estamos hablando de un tipo de música que en principio es aceptable por mucho público, pero del cual existe todo un movimiento underground i Firefest es el principal promotor. Basándonos en que es un festival creado y organizado por fans, es esto la base para que no se puedan dar críticas contrarias. En este caso lo que mueve toda la parafernalia organizativa no es más que el gusto por la música.

Este año el festival estaba encarado casi en su totalidad a la existencia y futuro de los grandes maestros el Aor inglés FM.

El viernes tuvimos la fiesta de presentación, esta vez a diferencia del pasado año en un lugar llamado “Trent University”, en lugar del familiar “Rock city” supuestamente ocupado este día. Los primeros en salir a escena fueron los también ingleses Lost Weekend, buenas intenciones y una banda que resultó un buen punto de partida, sin ningún exceso resultaron correctos. En cambio los suecos Eclipse eran realmente esperados, su vocalista, Erik Martensson, el año pasado ayudó a H.e.a.t en directo ante la ausencia de su vocalista por causas médicas. Eclipse son una buena banda, se les nota que lo que hacen muy bien, puede que les falte un poco de tiempo para ser mejor considerados pero hasta ahora tienen buenos discos y un buen directo. Bad Habit eran los siguientes, y sufrieron como nadie las incomodidades de probar demasiado y vieron su tiempo reducido un tanto en exceso, de los 14 temas previstos solo sonaron 6, su paso fue realmente fugaz, aunque efectivo. H.e.a.t finalmente venían al Firefest VI con su vocalista principal y ofrecieron un gran concierto, su fama y su gancho ha subido como la espuma este último año, y fueron recibidos como los grandes de la jornada. Sus compatriotas Treat se encargaron de cerrar el festival el viernes, gran concierto de los Suecos que una vez más demostraron su gran directo, recuerdo que las melodías de “Conspiracy” no me dejaban de sonar en mi mente tras su concierto, y será por algo.
