Quisiera posicionarme sobre la edición del último disco de la banda de moda en el metal actual, Slipknot. Y que quede claro que les considero una gran banda de directo que casi nunca defrauda y eso ya es mucho. Otra cosa son sus ediciones, por una parte están sus fans los que les prefieren de una u otra forma pero que en definitiva supongo que compran sus discos, de hecho yo me hice seguidor suyo con su anterior disco “Vol.3” un disco vibrante y brutal. Si bien mi gusto por la banda ya viene de la edición de su debut, gran disco; lo que pasa es que cuando se editó su segundo trabajo “Iowa” no me acabaron de convencer, querían aproximarse a Neurosis ¡nada menos!, y nada de nada. Al menos con “Vol.3” encontraron su sitio y consiguieron crear un gran disco. Ahora nos presentan “All hope is gone” disco que como me sucede muchas veces acabo comprando a ciegas, ya que su anterior disco me parecía muy bueno, lástima porque “All hope is gone” no cumple para nada mis expectativas, es un buen disco pero lejos de ser considerado fundamental como la mayoría de periodistas musicales han dicho sobre él. “All hope is gone” muestra a la banda en un momento de no saber por donde tirar y aunque ellos lo nieguen la aportación de Rick Rubin era muy fuerte. Pero para mi un tema como “Gehenna” incluido en este disco es lo peor que han hecho en su trayectoria, no negaré que hay unos cuantos temas potentes, pero el disco en su conjunto queda lejos de lo que consiguieron con “Vol.3”. Eso sí estoy seguro que la banda en directo sigue arrasando y no les pasa como a otros que la edad les pasa factura, ellos son aún jóvenes en este aspecto. Y que conste que sigo confiando en que editen material fogoso en otra ocasión.
