The Firefest VI – Segunda Parte Nottingham2009

Puestos en ruta de nuevo, esta vez la jornada principal del festival en el “Rock city” de Nottingham. Inauguraron la jornada Airrace, una banda que me gustó mucho pese a ser solo conocidos por haber militado en sus filas Jason Bonham. Airrace son una gran banda de rock melódico tristemente destinados al eterno underground.

Un grupo como Poodles era un punto y aparte en la línea del festival, la verdad es que son una buena banda, pero no me convencen del todo para lo que es el Firefest. No voy a negar su efectividad pero fueron para su desgracia el grupo que todos nos tomamos unos momentos para el descanso.La presencia de Drive She Said era toda una celebración, poder escuchar a una banda tan clásica era todo un lujo, sonó “You know what love is” para comenzar, emocionante, pero el show fue de más a menos, lástima. Los siguientes fueron los también reunidos Romeo’s Daughter, la única banda con una mujer al frente en todo el festival, su estilo más cercano al pop fue bien recibido. La verdad es que la banda convenció.
Tras ellos White Sister repetían tras el éxito del pasado año. White Sister son una gran banda de puro Aor reprimidos también a ser olvidados por la gran masa, su concierto este año si cabe fue superior a lo que nos dejaron ver en la pasada edición del Firefest. Teniendo en cuenta el nivel de todas las bandas uno esperaba un poco el bajón, no llegó en este momento porque creo que Crown Of Thorns hicieron el mejor concierto imaginable, un show brutal con un Jean Beauvoir al 200%. Y no me extraña que gente ya famosa se haya fijado en este personaje que desde su banda en cierta forma desconocida crea y haga conciertos realmente impresionantes, para mi fue como lo que sucedió el año pasado con Mitch Malloy, Crown Of Thorns tumbaron cualquier duda de su efectividad.
El momento del declive llegó, y siento decirlo que fueron Honeymoon Suite, a priori una gran banda que no supieron conectar con el público, un concierto extraño y aburrido. Todo lo contrario como el gran final con los dioses del Aor británico FM, estos a su vuelta a Firefest demostraron como ha de ser una banda de buen rock melódico, fue realmente emocionante escuchar “Frozen heart” y todos sus clásicos de la mano de esa voz tan característica como es la de Steve Overland. El final con “Purple rain” y todos los organizadores del festival más White Sister a diferencia del año pasado un final por todo lo alto y con las miradas puestas en su Firefest VII.

Post On the road again, this time the festival's main day in the "Rock City" Nottingham. The presence of Drive She Said was a celebration, to listen to a band as classic was a treat sounded "You know what love is" to begin with, exciting, but the show was more or less, sorry. The following were also gathered Romeo's Daughter, the only band with a female head throughout the festival, his style closer to pop was well received. The truth is that the band convinced. White Sister After repeated them after the success of last year. White Sister is a band of pure Aor too repressed to be forgotten by the mass, their concert this year whether there was more than what they let us see in the last edition of Firefest.
